A closer look revels three eagles, each one representing a stage of personal development. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLouie decided to explore this theme after recognising the overlapping (common) purpose of guardian lions and Coast Salish house posts, which both identify and protect important spaces.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe original 8' x 8' painting was created in 2013 for the \u003cstrong\u003eWing Luke Museum's \u003c\/strong\u003e\"Cultural Confluences: People of Native and Asian Heritage\" exhibition. In 2015, Louie was commissioned by the city of Seattle to paint a variation of this design on a bentwood box for Xi Jinping, the President of China.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe are proud to announce a new, larger version of this \u003cstrong\u003egiclée print\u003c\/strong\u003e, which was created after each panel of the 8 panels composing the 'Guardians' painting was individually scanned.
